hmm…. In the non Virtual world for Windows OS, we use ERD.  It has the option to reset the Administrator password.  But, today I forgot the Administrator password to one of my Virtual Server.  I inserted the ERD into the CD-ROM drive of the Virtual machine hoping that it can reset the Admin password for me.  To my surprise, it didn’t work. ERD couldn’t detect the VM disc.  From reading online, it seems that ERD needs some drivers to be loaded first before it can work.  I did more searching and finally came up to a post from the VMware forum saying that there is another tool for password reset for Virtual machines.  This tool is called Hirens Boot CD.
